The final leg of Career Jamboree 2015 has commenced. The programme is an initiative of MiET Africa as part of the Keeping Girls in School campaign. The programme is rolled out in partnership with the Department of Education- Skills Unit directorate, and The KZN Science Centre as the implementer. This programme has taken the KZN Science Centre to three districts; Sisonke, Zululand and uMkhanyakude with the main aim in mind to empower Grade 9 female learners with subjects selection, various careers available and to provide encouragement for learners to pursue careers in fields that are viewed as taboo for females. All this is conducted through various interactive workshops that showcase careers available and the steps that are needed to pursue such careers successfully. The KZN Science Centre has seen over 6000 Grade 9 female learners so far with a further 2000 to be visited in uMkhanyakude district.
