The KZN Science Centre proudly teamed up with the US Consulate General of South Africa in taking science on the road to Pietermaritzburg. The innovative initiative took place at the American Corner in Pietermaritzburg on the 25th and 26th of August 2015.The KZN Science Centre had some edutainment for the Grade 10 to 12 learners in and around Pietermaritzburg.The programme that was run for two days consisted of Electricity, Chemistry and Biotechnology workshops that are based on the Curriculum Assessment Policy Statement.The learners were also given the opportunity to experience out of this world science demonstration in the science show and witness the raging rivers and erupting volcanoes in The KZN Science Centre’s Planetarium. Through this initiative The KZN Science Centre reached out to over 70 Grade 10, 11 and 12 learners giving them the opportunity to enjoy what the world of science has to offer whilst increasing their capacity for the subject.
